shoa artist
|
Nahem Shoa is a new generation
figurative artist, who paints from life powerful images
about living in the 21st century. He is renowned for staging
large-scale solo exhibitions in major city art galleries
and museums in the United Kingdom. It is Shoas technical
brilliance as a painter that has brought to life his themes
of Youth Culture, Multi Culture and Giant Heads. His work has been showcased in national museums with Lucian Freud, Frank
Auerbach and David Bomberg. Shoa is a leading member of the New British Realist movement in art.

Shoa
believes that good objective painting can only be done well
from life and is opposed to working from photogaraphy. For
Shoa painting from the model is about discovering what he
doesnt yet know.
He has won many awards, including first prize in the Royal
Society of Portrait Painters and The Elizabeth Greenshields
Foundation Award. His work is in several public art collections.
